Foot and Ankle Treatment

About foot & ankle pain

Plantar Fasciitis is the inflammation of a thick band of tissue the runs from the heal to the bones of the ball of the foot. This tissue acts like a rubber band creating tension which helps maintain the arch of the foot. Plantar fasciitis causes stabbing pain usually towards the inside of the heal with the first steps in the morning. Pain can increase with prolonged walking or standing in poor supportive shoes. Tension in the tissue causes inflammation from small tears and is difficult to self resolve without proper care. If untreated it could lead to knee, hip or back problems.
