Hip Pain Treatment

About hip pain

Hip Impingement is a common cause of hip pain among young athletes and physically active adults. The symptoms are caused from one or both of the bones in the hip joint develop abnormally. If either the femoral head or hip joint(acetabulum) are misshapen or has excess bone growth on its surface, the bones rub together and cause friction. The pain will occur when the friction causes damage to labrum, the tissue that cushions the joint or when cartilage is damaged leading to osteoarthritis. Hip pain can be caused by a variety of problems and the location of pain is a helpful diagnostic tool along with orthopedic testing.
